Bob Campbell has been working in the drugs field since the 1970’s. In 1970 he was part of a co-operative in Brighton which set up an early example of a multi disciplinary street agency which included working with drug users. Throughout the late 70’s and early 80’s he worked at the Lifeline Project in Manchester specialising in assessing and preparing clients for admission into Therapeutic Community (TC) and other residential rehabilitation programmes. He has worked at Phoenix Futures since 1984 when he was engaged to bring his first hand experience of being a member of a TC to the initial development of a concept based TC for drug users in Sheffield. Bob is Chair of Sheffield Drug and Alcohol Reference Group and is a member of the European Federation of Therapeutic Communities where he represents Phoenix Futures.
